Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator job opening in Bangalore with FIC – First Indian Corporation. A strong senior Microsoft SQL Server Administrator (MSSQL DBA) with solid hands-on MSSQL database administration experience and in-depth practical understanding of the SQL Server concepts, features, and technologies. The candidate will administer and support enterprise and dynamic 24×7 MSSQL environments with high availability and scalable performance requirements. Extensive practical experience in MSSQL 2000/2005 Enterprise Edition with Cluster configuration and HA solutions are required. The SQL Database Administrator is responsible for the design, administration, and support of all database environments including development, QA staging, and production. In this key role, the SQL DBA should have an exceptional understanding of Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2005 server, MS.NET application development, database design, and hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, security, performance tuning, cluster configurations, and other high availability solutions. Candidate will exercise sound solid judgment in choosing the most appropriate approach to solving complex problems, and demonstrate teamwork, dedication, and flexibility. Responsibilities and Requirements: • A minimum of 5 years of stable, progressive experience administrating and supporting MS SQL Server 2000 & 2005 infrastructures in a large-scale, corporate enterprise level environment with strong SQL Server HA experience including Cluster configuration, log shipping, and database mirroring. Oracle administration experience is a plus. • Designing, implementing, and supporting SQL Server database environments for Development, Quality Assurance, and Production. • Proactively monitor MS SQL Server health and performance ensure high availability and reliability of the DB application environment and provide recommendations to improve performance and scalability of the SQL Server instances. • Design and implement all database security to ensure integrity and consistency among the various database regions. • Implement and oversee all database code deployments and changes to the database environment to ensure proper change management processes are adhered to and documented. • Build, and enforce database change management, security standards and best practices. • Strong scripting, debugging and performance tuning experience. • Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of Microsoft database code troubleshooting practices, development tools and technologies, database clustering technologies and experience with Microsoft Operations Support processes. • Experience supporting and implementing Disaster Recovery solutions and possess a strong working knowledge of proactive and auto-corrective monitoring practices leveraging third party tools. • Working knowledge of load balancing and SSL technology, and demonstrated proficiency troubleshooting application and database issues. • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with management, staff and customers as well as demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning skills. • Ability to assess complex situations, set priorities and implement action plans with a business oriented approach and a proactive understanding and ability to manage end user/customer expectations. • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage and enforce policy and procedure in a large multi-team development environment. • Flexibility and willing and available to provide on-call, 24/7 support as needed. • Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills. • Ability to communicate and work professionally and effectively in a team environment. • Bright personality, team player, self-starter, and self-motivated. • Excellent communications skills. • Willingness to learn, and support other RDBMS, including PostgreSQL open source DB.Title: SQL Server Admin Job in Bangalore
